I have a alienware x51 built in 2010, i7 920xm, radeon 5870hd eyefinity 6, and all my ram is different and they all do the same in every spot i have tried every combination to install them nothing works only 5.99 usable. they are all the same size and speed but for some reason i cant use all 10. i tried to contact alienware but they said since i installed my own ram they wont service it. even if i were to pay for new service plan.

Therefore the 4 GB stick, that was added later, is not working.
If you want to populate all 4 slots, then you need to get a memory kit with four matched sticks.

So it detects the stick is inserted, but is not able to use it.
This again goes back to the mismatched RAM, and the system not working with it.

i figured it out. you are probably right but thats not the only problem my buddy has a tester with a fancy name that tells if the slots are functioning and my last 2 are not so i might have to replace mobo sometime soon idk but 2 down 4 togo
