I am in need of some guidance on how to limit bandwidth between several devices in my home. I have a 45MB down connection. I have my ASUS RT-AC66U (AC1750) Router hooked up through my ATT Modem/Router because my Router has better range and can support more devices. Currently I have my main SSID setup to where the 2.4Ghz and the 5Ghz band are the same name & password as well as them both being hidden networks. I also have a Guest account for people that come over and need internet access. The Guest account has its own name that I created and also is password protected. If I knew how to hide that SSID I would have done so. Anyway, I want my main SSID to carry most of the bandwidth as I do a lot of my work online as well as my gaming and streaming movies to my SmartTV downstairs. It seems as though when I have people on the Guest network that they end up using quite a bit of my bandwidth and it is hard for me to game or stream movies while they are on it. Any help would be much appreciated. I have been considering just getting a newer, more powerful router, but I am not sure if that would fix the issue.
