Hello there community I have a question that I'm going to leave as an opinion based discussion. In my system I currently have one EVGA GTX 780 6gb sc edition. It is a very nice card that has no problem keeping up with modern titles at very high to ultra settings. However, I was considering saving up to get myself another card to have an SLI config because I felt the extra power behind my gpu couldn't hurt. It has unfortunately, been an incredible hassle to find another GTX 780 6gb sc edition, and some of the options that I did find were more expensive than what I paid for my current card. So I was wondering, would it be better to risk buying another 780 or would I be better off spending my money on a newer card such as the 980ti. Thanks in advance for all suggestions.

Uh, that's a tough question. While the 980Ti uses less power, SLI 780s would still beat it in most cases.

Although, you would have the upgrade route of a second 980Ti if you wanted one.

buy a 980ti, it will use less power, will be more powerful than even 2 780ti, however when dx12 comes out you wont have 12GB of vram with 2 780ti

I think that is probably my highest selling point for keeping the 780 is that if the promises of the new dx12 api are true then it would benefit me to have an SLI config, but also saving up to get two 980ti's is also a very reasonable prospect
