Okay, so recently my computer has started freezing, lagging and generally being slow. Every time I try to start a program, it takes 30 seconds to 2 minutes to start up. However, opening windows explorer and other OS programs is extremely fast. Whenever I try to open Chrome or even IE, it simply doesn't load and then when it does load it crashes. Playing games, every time an event happens (like in Shadow of Mordor when I kill an Orc) the screen freezes for about 6 seconds and in areas where there are many events happening, the freezing can go on for up to 5 minutes. The computer is almost unusable. The specs are an i5 4460, a GTX 760, 16 GB of 1600 MHZ RAM, an Asus Z97-C mobo and a 2 TB SSHD. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if this is windows, right click the taskbar at the bottom and choose task manager. then go to the performance tab.

when playing a game keep this open beside it. if the ram or cpu are high, then there's your problem. if not then it's most likely a problem with your graphics card. unless you messed something up in the bios if you play around in there
