Hello, so I just bought a brand new SSD (Adata SP600) and a new 2TB HDD, I want to house the OS on the SSD.

I leave the HDD disconnected from the computer, the SSD is the only drive connected to it. I then run the Windows 8.1 Install disk, go through the steps, put in the key, it goes downhill from there. the step titled: "Where do you want to install Windows?" The only drive available is "Drive 1 unallocated Space" so i select it, but it gives me an error
"We couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one."
I have turned the AHCI bios setting on
I've tried pretty much everything(well everything I can think of) I have create different size partitions, I have partitioned the entire ssd, I have taken the image from a cd and turned it into an iso then pt it on a usb (multiple times) I have tried different usbs, any help is appreciated, here are my specs:

Motherboard: MSI A88X Gaming
SDD: ADATA SP600
RAM: Avexir 2x4GB 2133
and I know my motherboard is compatible bc it recognizes the ssd by name in the bios
