Is it true you will need more than the 6GB of VRAM the 980ti has in the future?

Solution
Yes I'm sure that in 10-20 years from now, 6GB of VRAM is going to suck.

haha jk the Titan X is not worth the premium over the 980ti for gaming.

the 980ti is powerful enough. I have one. they will run easy at around 30FPS or higher on most games at max settings 4k. if your looking towards 60FPS at 4k then SLI 980ti will power close to that if not that. 6GB is plenty and especially with the benefits of DX12 running on amount of CPU processors. between this and a nice i7 you wont worry.

in a few years yeah most likely. I avg an upgrade every year or 2. but look at the likes of say GTX295 from 2009 now which was a powerhouse of the day. or the GTX680 a few years ago which will barely touch a few FPS at 4k.
Everything has its day. but if you want some serious gaming now then go to 980ti or titan. but until DX12 comes out we wont see if the titans true potential can be used as its way overpowered on 12GB on single card for now
