This is a question that I am unable to find the answer to. I have 4gb ram(2X2gb). My motherboard is MSI 2A9Ch-http://www.findlaptopdriver.com/msi-2a9ch-specs/

My motherboard does have 4 ram slots. So, I was thinking-can I get another 4gb ram(2X2gb), the same kit as before, and will it be compatible with my motherboard? I mean, those 4 slots exist for a reason, don't they? I am not mixing different RAMs together, it would be the same ones that already are on my motherboard.

That mobo can support memory upto 16GB running at 1300MHz max. So definitely you can install the same kit , no probs with that.

Thanks for your reply. And is it possible for me to put two RAMs(not from a kit) of the same type together? Like there is a ram stick, I buy two of it, and put them together?

Yes you can , just ensure that the ram your buying is the comaptible with your system. It's not necessary to buys same rams from a kit , just get the identical RAM and youre good to go.

It's a maybe, ANY time you mix sticks from different packages it's a Maybe. There are no guarantees, I don't know of any manufacturer that will guarantee mixing sets - even of the same exact model. If it was as easy to mix sticks as so many think, the manufacturers would simply sell single sticks an d make a higher profit per stick, rather than spend time testing sticks for packaging to ensure the stick that go into a package will play nice
