Computer Crashes After Installing New Graphics Card

Hi
I recently bought and installed a R9 270x in my computer. Before 2 days to be exact.
I have been experiencing crashes constantly where the monitor goes blank and comes back after restarting.
This has happened around 5 times in just 2 days.
It may due to the driver or just a problem with my spces.

Specs:
i3 @ 3210
DH61BF
8 gb ram.
VS 650
Win 8.1

Please help me here.

Can you put in another gpu and see if it crashes or not? If it doesn't, then its a problem with your new R9 270X and you would need to get it replaced.

Also, if you haven't already, get the latest drivers directly from AMD's site. Do not install the ones that came with the driver CD.

Previously I had GT 610 and it did not crash at all.
I just got the R9 270x replaced.... for the second time. :3
