Do any board partners allow you to take off the stock cooler on a gpu?

I've pulled apart Asus, gigabyte, radeon and some others.

You can open most GPU's easily with a phillips head screw driver.

Im sure his question isnt about how easy it is to remove a stock cooler, but rather will it void the warranty in doing so.

best I recall evga is the only one that will and fully honor there warrantee.. the rest will squeal like a pig if they notice you did on theres . [opinion]

I believe EVGA will not void the warranty as long as you put the stock cooler back on if you need to RMA, and it has not been damaged by your modification.

MSI and XFS will void the warranty if you replace the stock cooler. As Junkey said, EVGA do not. I can't be certain of others I'm afraid. You will have to check the individual company web sites or list the specific card so we can help you be sure.
