Power wattage and which company?

Solution
If you have the stock 460W PSU, and you are running the GTX 760 right now, you will be alright with the GTX 970. If you have the listed 12GB of memory, you are fine. The only drawback is that many folks with (older) HPs here on this forum have had trouble with the newer UEFI BIOS of the Maxwell-equipped gfx cards. But as new as your HP is, I would not expect that to be an issue.

Before you decide on a car, I'd suggest you measure for length inside your PC to be sure you don't buy a card that is too long. Measure from the rear expansion slot covers, along the PCIe slot, to the closest obstruction. Usually the drive cage or a drive.
