Is it a big deal if my optical drive uses 3gb/s rather than 6gb/s

Was just wondering cause I know my Sata port can run 6gb/s. Will there be a big difference

Solution

Not at all. Would never saturate the sata interface. They are just too slow reading or writing. Good question however.

A blu ray drive needs 54mbps to read. So whether you are on a 3000 or 6000 mbps sata channel is irrelevant.
