long beep sound

Hey, like one year ago i started to have this issue where my pc would make a long beep noise, when i my win started it would freez every couple of secs for long period of time till now the problem stopped now it became quite frequently, when i start my pc i hear that noise also that problem started to occur when i added 2 extra rams should this be the problem i also tried removing the ram, the beep sound would only apear when i open the pc any ideea how to solve this?

Can you provide a Make/Model of the PC, or if you built it yourself. Some consumer PC's have a jumper on the actual case that detects if the side is open or not. Hard to tell about the beep as different MotherBoard manufacturers use different beep codes.

I'd also try just using one stick of RAM, and changing slots one by one to see if you can get it to boot, process of elimination. Lastly I would pull the CMOS battery (like a watch battery) on the Motherboard and disconnect the poswer. Hold down the Power button for about 30 seconds and then try booting again.

Sorry for the extremely late response but i had to leave home with work for some time and i wasnt able to get my specs but there they are : graphics card : nvidia gts250 processor intel core i3 and 4 gbs of ram hope i didnt miss anything
