Hi
Recently, when I have been playing CSGO, my game crashes and not only kicks me from the game, but forces me to reboot my system. I do notice that my RAM is pretty much always being used, like sitting here in an internet browser, It's using 15% of 16 GB which is pretty ridiculous.

But anyway, is there anything that I can do to prevent this? I do believe my GPU is dying as well as the drivers continuously fail no matter what driver version I'm on.

Thanks for any help!

Solution
You might be getting the "driver not responding" error aka TDR. This started happening for people after 350.12. I would try that driver and test the results. There's multiple threads about it over on the geforce.com forums. I actually resolved the problem for myself by doing a completely fresh install of Win 8.1. That's not a recommended solution, just something I had been meaning to do anyway, and ended up working out in my case. Nvidia's said they are working on a hotfix for the issue. I imagine its complicated and has something to do with all the recent windows 8.1 updates, maybe changes in the nvidia drivers, and prep for Win 10, but that's just speculation til they release an actual statement.

First you just need to determine if...
First of all, if your PC is constantly crashing, you can be assured that there is a reason; it's a matter of finding it.
Please specify your components. Include the brand and model (not just wattage) of your PSU. How old is it? Is the electrical power reliable where you are, or do you see lights flickering frequently?
Has anything been replaced or upgraded in your system, such as the graphics card?

First you just need to determine if that is the issue. Have you looked at event viewer to see if the driver kernel is crashing a lot?

As far as RAM usage, I have a bunch of chrome tabs open, and the more add-ons, extensions you have for it, really ramp up RAM usage.

I also have UnrealEditor open but that's only using a little over 600MB for a total of 30% RAM usage for web browsing and that.

Thanks! I'll try it and post results.

Sure, just keep in mind this is a shortcut to real troubleshooting of a problem. It's just a common issue at the moment, and doesn't take very long to find out if it fixes you up or if the real troubleshooting needs to begin.

I did notice a few things upon opening up my PC and looking inside.
-PSU fan not spinning (has been not spinning for a while and working up funds to get a new one/RMA)
-HDD temps were very hot, almost too hot to touch
-GPU fans were not spinning particularly fast
-Everything was dusty (will clean ASAP)

I've already tested it, the fan isn't even in the socket. It does spin sometimes, but not really anymore because when it spun it was clicking on something then it just quit at a LAN party I was at.

It doesn't actually get too hot. I'm sure if it got too hot it would. Anyways, I cleaned out the dust from my GPU and the fan is spinning normal now. Thanks for the help :D
