Hey folks,

Recently i installed a new ASUS STRIX OC Edition GTX960 and upgraded my PSU from 500w to a Corsair 850w PSU. Whenever i begin to push the card, i.e. playing a game. After about 5 minutes or so of use, the system will crash, displaying a quick blue error screen which i am unable to read as it disappears too quickly.

My thoughts are that the issue may be to do with power, but surely 850w should be enough? In terms of what else i've got in my system, its: intel i5 3450, 8GB of RAM, 1TB Samsung evo 840 SSD. All attached to a GIGABYTE H61M-DS2V Mobo. I've tried running windows error detection and it could find any solutions to the crashes.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Ive just tried a few different games and they've all run fine, it appears to just be this one game, dead island specifically, which is giving my system grief. I looked up the event ID for the error and it was ID 10016, Dcom permission error. I guess i just need to re-install any programs that are causing this issue?

Also to answer your question WymingKnott, i am able to see the temps, but they dont reach a very high level after just 10 mins of game play, which is when the game crashes the system. This GPU is also designed to stay cool, i really dont think it would be the temps, but i will keep an eye on them using the ASUS GPUTweak software that came with the card. What would you say would be acceptable temps when gaming?

Cheers
