hello i am having fps drops on most of my games like witcher 3 and gta v are the main ones my proccesor is a i7 4790k and my gpu is a gtx 980 ti i recently upgraded and it was running smooth the first night until i tried hooking up dual monitors but never got it to work i dont know if i messed something up in nvidia control panel

From experience, GTA V enjoys having unstable framerates on high end cards, the Witcher 3 is probably the same story. Once you get to a certain framerate, it decides it wants to be unstable, as long as your framerates are staying above 60fps (or 144) you won't notice.
As for the dual monitors, yes they will affect performance.
