Hey, trying to put together a new rig for $1000-1200 that will eventually usurp my HTPC's role as a Steam box connected to my TV. Primary uses would be for gaming (ex. Witcher 3, Fallout 4) and multimedia editing (mainly photos, some HD video). Willing to go up to $1200, but welcome any input that would save some cash. Newegg is the preferred vendor.

Thanks in advance.

There should be a 980 and an intel i7 4690k in here, if you want I could make a better build via pcpartpicker for the same price.

Heres the build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/44HdTW

So I changed priorities, I was originally going to cheap out on the mobo and case but I figured the i5 was fine. I know the i5 isn't, well an i7 but unless your doing heavy video editing the i5 should get the job done. Also you can upgrade to an i7 andy time. Most games are pretty video card dependant so you'll be pretty much be maxing out almost every game high to ultra setting 60fps 1440p.
