WD my passport ultra 1TB, I/O device error

My WD id detected in my computer, but when i try to open, system shows LOCATION IN NOT AVAILABLE. , d:is not available (the request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.

I'm very sorry to hear about your issues with the WD My Passport external drive. :( I'd recommend you to try plugging it to another computer and using a different USB cable to see if that will help. Another thing you should check is the HDD's health and SMART status using WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostic utility.
