Can you use USB 3.0 in a USB 3.1 slot?

I do believe its just like USB 3 and USB 2. If you place a USB 3.1 drive in a USB 3 port, it will still work, but it wont get the advantages of USB 3.1, since the port isn't configured to 3.1. If you place a USB 3 drive in a USB 2 port, then it will still work, it just wont have the same speeds as 3.
