I have a 264gb Samsung ssd as my boot, motherboard is z97 saber tooth asus mark1 i7k core, recently trying to add my 3tb Wd red drive for games movies everything but my key games I have on ssd. When I reboot it doesn't want to boot even on the bios it's not on the list trying to boot so that confuses me. Also the boot process when it does go through my boot is like 4 minutes sometimes longer, and let's say I get past that point, computer starts running really slow and sometimes lags. I portioned the 3tb as two 1.5 tb partitions. I went to asus to update bios. Still running slow or doesn't boot. Depends on how it feels. Please help with some helpful hints or solutions please!!!

Hi there FuzzySlippers88,

I am sorry that you are facing some issues with your WD drive. :(

It is possible that there is something wrong with the drive as reedo_43 already suggested. This is why, it may be a good idea to back up all the data stored on it as soon as possible.

Apart from that, you can start with something simple as just changing both SATA and USB cables. You can connect it to another port as well. In case your SSD is attached to port 0, you can attach the HDD to port 1.

In case the issue persists, you can test the drive with WD's Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool. If the test results show that there is something wrong with the drive, then I guess you can just contact WD's Support either by e-mail or phone and eventually...
