Hey, about a month ago I transferred my data to a new SSD from one of my HDDs so my SSD was my boot drive. Last night I changed to a new motherboard, case, PSU, and video cad. When I tried to boot at first, nothing really happened, so I manually had to make my SSD (for some reason there were two versions of it, one that I am using now that has my OS and the other which wanted me to install Windows on it) my boot drive (btw I am using an 8.1 OEM). Now I got to Windows with all my files and stuff, but in the bottom right corner it said "Windows 8.1 Build 9600" so I tried to remove it with a command but eventually removed it with a watermark-remover. Now I am trying to change my lock screen background when I noticed it said "You have to activate Windows before you can personalize your PC." I went to "Activate Windows" and it said my product key is being used on another PC. My current product key is the one I've always had. Please I could really appreciate any help. I would be eternally indebted to you!!

You will need to contact MS for assistance. As far as they are concerned, you already registered that key with the old build. Now you are trying to install on a second build.

Why are you trying to remove a water mark if this is a legal version anyway?

It is legal, but I just removed it because my background was black and the watermark was white and kinda stood out.
