Hello, my dad recently bought a Dell U2515H 2560x1440 resolution monitor, but his GTX 550 Ti graphic card only got 2x Dvi-I outputs and his screen only got Display port and HDMI. We tried a Dvi Dual link to HDMI, but it shows the maximum resolution he can run is 2058 x 1152. It is apparently a common problem with people that use HDMI and got old graphic cards or so.

We tried running a custom resolution of 2560x1440 but the text got fuzzy and looked awful.

From what i can see, the only option at this point would be to buy a newer graphic card with a Display Port Output, and just simply do Display Port to Display Port.

If anyone know anything at all, please help!

I'm looking for a inexpensive graphic card that is about as powerful as the GTX 550 Ti, and has a Display Port.

He only watches videos and movies pretty much, so it just need to be able to play videos at 2560x1440.

Thanks for your time, and please ask questions if anything.

Strange motherboard.
It does not look to have a dp or hdmi capability.
A GTX750 should work, but researching, I see some issues regarding the ability to post with some modern graphics cards.

Here is one response that might help:

With new HP computers either press F10 to get in the BIOS, or the Escape key to bring up the Startup Menu then select Computer Setup or BIOS Setup. There’s a menu on the Advanced mode side for “Security”. Under “Security” there will be a "Secure Boot Configuration" menu where you would want to disable both “Secure Boot” and “Fast Boot” and then enable “Legacy Boot Support”. When the options are set hit F10 to save and exit out of the BIOS Setup. The system will reboot and ask you to enter in a passcode to confirm changes. After the system boots into Windows go ahead and shut the system down and install the graphics card as normal. The graphics should now be displaying through the video card.

I don't understand, why is this necessary? When I switches graphic card from my current computer, I just uninstalled the drivers, took out the old GPU and put in the new. Then I installed the new GPU's graphic card drivers.

The GTX 750 doesn't have a display port though.

Edit: The R7 360 looks like it has what i need. It's pretty affordable too.

The AMD R7 360, CAN run 2560x1440 through Display Port, right?
