Hey lovely people, recently I've been looking into building myself a decent gaming computer. Specifically a Mini-ITX build as I need to remain (semi-)portable at the moment, the issue is that this is my first build and while I've been lurking on forums for months I still have a few questions.

This is currently my build:

As you can see I lack only a power supply and I honestly have no idea where to begin with it.

So can someone make me a recommendation of a decent power supply? As I've been recommended everything from a 400 to a 600 watt.

Also while I have spent a lot of time researching my components for the best performance without overspending (I plan on doing a little overclocking on my CPU), I would greatly appreciate any other recommendations to do with my build.

Thanks in advance for any help!

This Antec 650w Gold is very good and this is a great price for it.

And for me personally, I would rather get an i7 4790k and use the stock cooler for £255 than get an i5 4690k + H100i for £267

Thanks for the quick help people!

The power supply seems great, not that I would know what makes a bad one... The CPU upgrade without the H100i would make sense, although you did modify the build to include a different CPU Cooler; I presume that this is a "if you REALLY want a non-stock cooler" recommendation? If so I might buy it if my budget increases.

My only remaining worry is that my build may run a little hot, if using CPU fan cooling would it be a good idea for me to get some additional fans for the case? Like a couple of 120mm fans? If so could you recommend some good fans?

Also it's great to see this community is actually nice and helpful to inexperienced builders, compared to some tech forums where a new person is apparently the equivalent of a overly touchy leper.

Thanks again!

I wouldn't worry about the build running hot. 120mm fans start at $5 each. I've never been picky about my case fans, and I don't feel like it's necessary to spend a fortune on them. I usually get packs a 4 from Cooler Master, Rosewill, or Cougar.
