So basicly i just bought NH-D15 with my last moneys, now i got 10 cents..

I installed the mounting brackets in motherboard and now when i try to install the heatsink into them the screws doesen't catch up. If i tilt it on the other side i can get the one screw started but its impossible to get the another one started even with some force! They seem like too short and the screws dont like start at the top there is flat for couple mm's. Help me! I tried find some tips and how to install, nothing helped :(!

Motherboard: Asus sabertooth 990fx R2.0

It is not easy getting the screws to clamp down. However, once one side is started, the other side should be going fine. Make sure you have the cross bracket (with the screws) completely down on the mounting plate. It takes more force than you may initially feel comfortable with. Keep in mind the screws have compression springs on them, so the other side not screwed in takes a pretty good down pressure with the screwdriver (and make sure you have a VERY good phillips screwdriver sized correctly with the screws for a complete/tight connection). My build is with an Intel rig, but I'm assuming it's the same mount design for AMD.

Edit: just FYI you have two threads started with the same question.

Yeah i got it, i think mine screw were a bit defective because when i looked at the intel ones they started at the top, so i used pretty much force, surprised anything didnt broke (huh!) and now its working! So quiet and keeping cool my power hungry hot 9370 :)!

Yep, that's what I figured! I take mine apart about twice a year for cleaning and run the heat sink itself under the kitchen faucet. I got used to the force required. It's a bit sketchy at first but you get used to it after a couple of times. You still have to be careful however. Welcome to Noctua world and many years of superior air cooling!

The big thing with any heatsink mounting where you have to put a good amount of pressure to get a bite into the threads is not to let that phillips head slip and hit your board.
