Long story short, I started experiencing freezing/stuttering issues that could only be cured by ctrl+alt+deleting in CSGO, so I built a brand new computer. I did a PLETHORA of tests to be sure that my CPU/MOBO/Memory/Drives were all fine. I then thought my GPU was fucked, so I sent my GTX 970 back in for a replacement, and I'm currently on my old GTX 660 that I THOUGHT was broken.
I then figured what the hell and unplugged the HDMI input to my 2nd monitor. Immediately LatencyMon's DPC ratings were EXTREMELY stable, and now CS:GO didn't freeze at all for hours.
So now I'm on one, 144Hz monitor, with only the onboard audio cable plugged in, nothing else. Now CS:GO doesn't seem to stutter at all (so far).
Could a ****ed up HDMI chord cause this? Is my monitor messed up?
Main monitor is ASUS VG248qe, 2nd monitor that I unplugged is a BenQ 60Hz 1ms monitor (don't know the exact model off the top of my head).
My system never freezes when watching streams or doing general things, other games never have this specific issue .. or any issue at all for that matter, it's literally only CS:GO and just started happening a few patches ago.
I can play any game without stuttering or crashing or anything but CS:GO seems to be messing up if I'm using a 2nd monitor (or it could be the HDMI chord, or the monitor itself, no clue).
Update: I tried hooking the 2nd monitor back up with the same HDMI chord and it kept flashing on and off and saying "Out of range, no signal, etc." Then I tried a NEW HDMI chord, same thing. So I thought what the hell, I plugged in the DVI from my main monitor to my 2nd monitor and it instantly responded and displayed my desktop then put the HDMI chord onto my main monitor. However, my DPC ratings went up again, and since my main monitor is 144Hz, I cannot use HDMI on it. So I unplugged the 2nd monitor again, put my main monitor back on DVI, boom, steady DPC readings across the board. It seems I can't have this 2nd monitor plugged in, in any way shape or form, or my CSGO ends up stuttering/audio looping, etc. and my DPC ratings go way up.
