Did it become stable at 42-44 with Prime95? If so, then you are fine. Nothing to worry about.
Having a cool temp is good, but it is not going to make any difference in the life of your CPU. A CPU that is in the 50s vs the 40s will have the same real world life to it. The CPU is going to fail from some other reason besides being a little warmer for years and years. The biggest reason it will "fail" is because it just gets old and you want a new computer.
Edit: the overclock or some miscalculation of voltage is much more likely to cause you long term problems than it being warmer. The CPU still has tons of thermal headroom to still be in spec. You are good!
