Core i5 4440 Running at 90-100C

Even just typing this the cpu is running at 90-100C. I have refitted the cpu cooler. (I have the stock cooler)

Do a bios or CMOS reset to get bios back to defaults. Maybe you've overclocked the CPU.

Refit the cpu cooler again. I've had that problem with my 2500K. It is a very finicky cooler.

I am using Open Hardware Monitor.
Specs:
Cpu: Intel i5 4440. (Did not overclock, also using stock cooler)
Graphics Card: Gtx 770 4gb
Mobo: AsRock B85 Pro4

See if you get the same CPU temp with HWInfo - Sensors. It seems to work better especially on Intel mobos.

What Vcore are you running? It should be about 1.0-1.2v

That is dageorously hot. Do u live in the desert or something. You may want to get a after market cooler and moumt it properly with good thermal paste

Better but still high. Should be idling at 40C max.

What Vcore are you running? It should be about 1.0-1.2v

What CPU fan speed are you running?

Maybe you need a better cooler. Or the stock one isn't on properly. Did you use a pea size drop of thermal paste between the CPU and cooler?

Still has the stock cooler and thermal paste on, but i have some Artic Silver 3 coming soon. And now the temps have fallen down to 45-50c

Sometimes thermal paste takes a while to settle in.

The temps have returned to normal 40c at idle and 70- low 90's when under load. I have had this cpu for a while and it just started to happen.

Sounds to me like there's something wrong.

I'd recommend replacing the cooler with eg Cryorig H7.
