I am planning on building a gaming RIG and was planning on going with 4th gen motherboard+ 4th gen processor+ DR3 RAM, but since I found out there is some new 5th gen Intel tech on the block so I've got a few questions to ask:
1) Will the DR4 RAM fit into the socket of 4th Gen Motherboards?
2) What is socket for 5th Gen processor called? (Like for 4th gen it's LGA 1150)
3) When the 5th gen motherboard and processor will hit the market & if it's a few months from now, does it worth the wait or should I go with all 4th gen RIG?

Solution
The 5th gen CPUs will be called Broadwell. Although the 6th gen(codenamed Skylake) is launching between 5th and 9th of August this year. Haswell(4th gen) does not support DDR4, although only on Z97 chipset with the LGA1150 socket. The LGA2011 socket and X99 are 4th gen but support DDR4. I'm not sure what the socket for 5th gen CPUs will be called, but for 6th gen it will be called LGA1151. If I were you I'd wait for 6th gen coming in 1 and a half month.
