Which GPU should I Buy?

Im looking at two GPUs and they are basically the exact same GPU: An NVIDIA GEForce one: http://amzn.to/1LCjUdH and a Gigabyte One: http://amzn.to/1JePrPA I was looking at the geforce one first and that was the one I was planning buying but my friend told me not to get a geforce and I dont know why Any suggestions or comments on which to buy would be helpful

Afterthought: If you would recommend a different card my budget that I set for a GFX card is $250

They are both non-reference GPUs, so they have good coolers. What is the size of your case? If it isn't a micro ATX, I wouldn't get the small EVGA one. Get the Gigabyte one as it has a better cooler, but personally I'd prefer one of these...

They are both non-reference GPUs, so they have good coolers. What is the size of your case? If it isn't a micro ATX, I wouldn't get the small EVGA one. Get the Gigabyte one as it has a better cooler, but personally I'd prefer one of these:

Despite being a rebrand, the R9 380 outperforms the 960 in almost every benchmark and is a better bang for your buck imo. Also, that 4GB of vram will help in AAA titles.

My bad, I didn't realize the Gigabyte one was 4GB. If you're interested in 4GB, then I'd definitely get a MSI R9 380 4GB instead as the GTX 960 can't use up all 4GB due to it's tiny 128-bit memory bus. The difference between 2GB and 4GB on the GTX 960 is marginal.

I believe all GTX 960's have the same power requirement/consumption, the better fans only make the card run cooler. The GTX 960 minimum PSU requirement is 400w, and the R9 380 is 500w.
