What is the procedure for upgrading integrated graphics to a graphic card?

I am running my pc on integrated graphics and soon going to upgrade to a graphic card. What and all should I do, the procedure.
Like removing the previous driver, etc.

Don't remove the integrated graphics card drivers. You will want those in case you need to revert to that video source.

Install the new graphics card drivers at the time you install the card. Read the manual to see if you install them before or after you plug in the card. Also read the manual to be sure you are plugging in power if required.
