Do you have a picture at more of an angle? Which model is this?

Also, if you have to ask how many phases, it sounds like you read on a forum somewhere that 12 phases or whatever is the best. Honestly, don't listen to that. The kids making it sound like you need a certain number of them couldn't even explain to you the electrophysical properties behind a choke, what a mosfet is, or how the VRM system is designed.

But if you insist, give us the model or post a better picture.

Yep, it is, I see it now. I was more hoping he could post a better picture, because it is hard to count the phases in the one he posted. I could make out 4, but there are surely more.

Also, my bigger point was... it doesn't matter. He shouldn't buy that board anyway, it's soon to be discontinued.

More phases = more expensive, but not necessarily better by any means.
More phases = maybe "better" power, but you are only counting up one aspect of the design.

Don't obsess over phases unless you understand a lot more about power systems design. If it has lots of phases, but inferior design or lower quality parts, you will still suffer the same problems of lower count boards.

While some super high end boards have good OC support, some high phase count boards are cheap and crappy. You gotta understand the whole story.

Get a well reviewed board for OCing. Don't count a random electrical spec and assume it is a good pick.
