Hello,

My problem is as the title reads, recently formatted my PC, installed my motherboard drivers via the CD that came with the board and now my USB 3.0's do not work, no data or power coming from either of the 2. I've been reading other articles on the issue but none have had a fix for me yet. If anyone can help here's what i've done so far.

- Reboot/Hard Reboot
- Reinstall drivers via CD
- Reinstall board drivers via their own website
- Uninstalled broken USB's from device manager and reinstalled using the CD
- Installed USB 3.0 Drivers from their website
- Made sure the 3.0's are active in the bios

So far none of these have worked an im at a dead end. Any other help would be awesome!

First of all, you've installed a lot of drivers. Uninstall all of the board drivers (CD and downloaded) and then install the latest drivers for all components from here: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8Z77V_PRO/HelpDesk_Download/ This will rule out the drivers conflicting with eachother. If this still fails to work then check the pins inside of the USB 3 header (bulky and may be blue) as one of them may have been bent or snapped off. Finally, use compressed air to clean the pins on the connecter and the port on the motherboard to rule out dust being the cause of the issue. If this all fails, let me know.

The USB's are working, they were working fine before the restore, although what exactly do I uninstall for the board (within device manager im assuming) im not seeing anything related to the board within the manager.

Edit: Only thing im seeing is the Intel 3.0 under USB controllers

Uninstall the drivers that are available on the Asus website then reinstall them using fresh downloads from the Asus website. Also, is your BIOS up to date? The latest version is 2104. Open the BIOS and check the version. Also, what power supply are you using?

I rebooted my pc and about 5 minutes into it being fully booted up it asked if I wanted to run a program from intel. I said yes and it installed something related to Asmedia and now the USB's work. Don't know why or how the program decided to run but it did. Soooo ya it works now, lol. Thanks for your help though!

Great to hear, the reinstall of the drivers has probably triggered something. I'd appreciate it if you could mark one of my posts as the solution to your issue as then others can see that the issue has been resolved. Thanks.
