Hey, so I'm still rockin my (2GB VRAM) 670s and I'm thinking about upgrading to the 980 Ti.. I mean I can handle most modern games still on high/ultra, but after I played through Witcher 3 on 50 fps (I have a 120hz monitor but plan on upgrading to triple curved screen setup) on avg it got me thinking.. Is it high time to upgrade?

Or should I wait for the Pascal architecture GPUs? Do you think they'll bring such sweeping changes that its not worth it to upgrade yet? I need some opinions, because I'm at my wit's end.

Thanks.

If you are upgrading to triple curved screens, then money is not a problem for you. Upgrade to a 980, or four of them.

No one can predict the future GPU performance until they are tested. When they are tested, go look at the charts and see if it works for your huge budget. The "sweeping" changes are probably going to be about as "sweeping" as the last increases between GPU generations.

Oh nothing fancy about the triple curved screens, I'm talking about the 27" samsung 1080p monitors. They're each like 350$, triple that and you have the price of ONE good 4k monitor.

So my budget is like 700$ for the gpu and the monitors are farther along the road.

I'm just torn because I want to get some value if I'm to shell out 700 for a gpu, I don't want it to get obsolete within a year.

And it's the first change in years to gpu architecture. Afaik pascal will be on 18nm right?
