Been running my 4770k at stock speeds for like a year now, and tried OCing it recently, but I can't seem to OC any higher than 4.2GHz no matter what I try... (or maybe I'm just bad at overclocking...)
Should I just upgrade to the 4790k and run it at stock?
Or is it not worth it at all?
Got my 4770k for around 280USD, not sure how much I could sell it for now, but I can get the 4790k for 280USD at my local Micro Center store.
I use my rig for video editing//rendering work on Adobe Premiere Pro, and I also use Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator for designs and photograph touch ups.
I do light gaming at 1080p - Don't think that matters much though.
Current Specs:
Computer Case: Corsair 760T Black
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K
CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H110
Motherboard: ASUS SABERTOOTH Z97 MARK1
Memory (RAM): Mushkin Enhanced Redline 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR3-2400 Memory
SSD: Samsung 840 EVO-Series 500GB
Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 780Ti 3GB Classified
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 850G2 850 Watt Gold
Thanks guys for any input!
