Can I delete all these extra Network Adapters?

Hello

Before i begin some things i'd like to note;

  • I don't do file or printer sharing etc
IPv6 has always been disabled on my wireless adapter, I felt no need for it and never had any issues (please correct me if I'm wrong).

As you can see from the image below I have multiple network adapters.

The 2 Realtek adapters are my Ethernet & Wireless adapters so those are fine, but what on earth are all the other ones? I'm pretty worried so can anyone feel me in.

Update

From the image below you can see they show up under ipconfig too, I don't want them on my computer so how do i go about removing them?

Note: LAN 2 & 4 are related to the microsoft virtual adapter we saw in the photo above. (no clue what that is/does).

The white boxes were just a precaution. I'm not very good with computers so it might be pointless, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

I also went to network connections in control panel and it only shows my Ethernet and my wireless adapter, nothing else shows so I'm not sure why all these adapters are showing up on device manager.

Thanks in advance.

While I understand that you don't use IPv6, I suggest that you either just leave them alone.

The ISATAP and 6to4 adapters are related to IPv6 transition for enterprise, here is a quote from MS about them:

"The Microsoft ISATAP device Inter Site Automatic Tunneling Address Protocol is used to help enterprises transition to an IPv6 infrastructure. The ISATAP adapter encapsulates IPv6 packets by using an IPv4 header. This functionality enables the client to transport IPv6 traffic over an IPv4 infrastructure. This approach lets organizations slowly migrate to an IPv6 infrastructure without having to spend excessive time and financial resources to convert to the new infrastructure."

The virtual adapter is a feature that allows you to use a single wireless adapter for two different networks.

If you delete them you have a pretty good chance of getting error bubbles popping up that will be way more annoying than just leaving them in peace. I would just hide them again and forget about them.

Thank you for the response, I'm just glad it wasn't something of a malicious nature.

1. Since i only use 1 network, wouldn't the virtual adapter be useless?

2. The hidden adapters are't connected to my computer can those at least be removed?

3. If not, can i at least disable them in device manager?
