Comcast Modem Issue

Hi, my name is Mat.

About 2 days ago after a power outage both my internet connection and phone services turned to trash. My internet download speeds used to be at 80 mb/s, and now they're at 1-5 mb/s. On my home phone, people's voices tend to stutter or cut out completely. I suspect it's a router problem. I'm using a Arris TG862G. The internet problems are happening on all of the devices in the home. I appreciate any sort of ideas you guys may have as to why this is happening.

Your diagnosis may be correct, or it could be a line (coming into your house or in the local area) issue. Have you contacted Comcast for assistance yet?

Yes, I have called them multiple times and all they have done is send a refresh signal over.

I do not know of any of my neighbors having this issue. The modem is being rented from Comcast. Will look into getting a replacement.

Hmm, haven't gotten to replace the modem yet, but I found another interesting part to all of this.

When I'm in a Skype call, my voice doesn't lag for others, but the voice of others lags for me.

Also, in games that have communication, people hear me fine but I hear them choppy.
