Hi guys, I have recently get a new pc (Assembled). It has 2gb DDR3 1600mhz Kingston value Ram. The pc seems to me bit slow while opening browser or any program it takes few secs. Therefore I have decided to upgrade it into 4gb.
The question is that having 4gb would improve my computer speed? because i have seen many videos and comments where people stating that RAM has nothing to do with your computer speed.
Can i get 4gb stick instead of getting 2gb?
That will make 2gb+4gb= 6gb is it possible and how much difference would 6gb make?

PC specs : INTEL Pantium G-3240 (3.10Ghz), 2gb Kingston Ram, GIGABYTE H81M-S1, 1TB WD HDD, LG M-DISC DVD writer.

you can get a 4gb stick and run it alone but if you add a 4gb to the 2gb you may only show 4gb total due to dual channel being restricted to the lowest ram component. so either get a 2gb matching yours or get a 4gb to later upgrade to 8gb and run single channel for now
WELL I HAVE SEEN ALOT OF COMPUTERS WITH 1 OR 2 GIG OF RAM TRY TO RUN WINDOWS 7 AND ITS SLOW as crap but when you had up to 4 it gets faster then 8 gigs its even faster... Now the internet depends on your ISP and speed you have bought now it may open a browser faster if only your isp is fast enough but all else yes more ram makes your pc faster otherwise as Bill gates said all we ever need is 640k lol

Best would be a 4GB stick or better yet a pair (set) of 2x4GB. With a single stick you will at least have 4GB and the 2GB might play with it or can be 'helped' to play with it via timing/voltage adjustments. With 2x4GB you have 8GB guaranteed to play
