Want to upgrade my GPU. Would i be better off sticking to AMD and crossfireing or swap over to NVidia

So im getting a new GPU and im not sure if i should get the GTX 980 or get another R9 270 (i already have one in my system) and crossfireing them?

what would be better? id like to get as many opinions as possible

You'll need to replace the power supply, I don't think that unit currently installed is a top class part and 500Watts is cutting it fine for a GTX970, and isn't really enough for a GTX980.
I'm not convinced a FX6300 CPU will drive a GTX980 to its full potential so for that reason I'll suggest you aim for a GTX970, or the R9 290 (bit slower, bit cheaper, uses more power).

^ Like he said you might experience micro stuttering and some games do not take advantage of two cards. Always go for one stronger card rather than two weaker ones, and the 980 should beat R9 270s in Crossfire. I'd sell that R9 270 and get a GTX 980.

Please note that even today many games are not optimized for SLI / Crossfire so they won't really benefit from that.
I would certainly go for the GTX980.
