How much space do I need to leave free on my ssd?

I have a 1 Tb Samsung Evo. How much space do I need to leave empty in order to not take a performance hit?

You shouldn't have to leave any space free. It is a storage drive, and you payed money to have the space available. Why would you not utilize that space?

Nope, I tend to keep my PC tidy. When I start to notice I am using a lot of space, I get rid of games or programs I don't use.
So I guess my comment of not using up the space you pay for was maybe a bit hypocritical.

So on my ssd, only about 920 Gb are free to use. Do the extra 80 Gb count towards the space I need to keep free?

Right. For a 1TB drive, that actually reports as 931GB.
So you need to leave 90-150GB free.

So don't go over about 775-800GB actual used space.
