Looking for help building a rig for editing. A system that can easily handle Blackmagic Cinema Camera 2.5k raw footage and also work well in Davinci Resolve and most if not all of Adobe's suite. The size of raw footage is approximately 70mb per second. I'm not the best at math but approximately 50 minutes of footage is 256gbs.

Approximate Purchase Date: July 1st or 2nd week 2015.

Budget Range: 2000 give or take a few hundred, I could push the budget to 3000 but would rather not unless it just made a WHOLE LOT of sense and is really necessary for a good experience

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Coloring/editing 2.5k raw from the BMCC cam in resolve/adobe, also a way to handle the footage and file sizes storage wise, web surfing, occasional foray into gaming no need to optimize for this, although would be nice to be able to sometimes switch from 3 to 1 or 2 monitors.

Are you buying a monitor? No. BUT this is the monitor I have x3.

Parts to Upgrade; Willing to upgrade EVERYTHING. But, here's some information about my current setup just in case some of it may be able to be used in the new build.

Also a few assorted sizes of different 1 TB to 3 TB drives

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Amazon would be my top one since I have prime, but, I guess anywhere reputable is fine! Would rather buy it all online than go to a physical store.

Overclocking; Maybe?

SLI or Crossfire; I'm assuming yes? But not sure.

Additional Comments: Would like the ability to quiet the fan or PC when surfing the web, like for example on my current setup when I use 1-2 of my 3 monitors to just surf the web I can go into Corsair Link and tell the computer to run in quiet mode.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I need a computer that can handle the footage easily and relatively quickly. I don't want to be frustrated when coloring or editing the footage. Also would like the computer to last me 4-5 years (stretching it I know lol).

Additional questions; What about raid controllers? Cuda processing / GPU for the editing side of things? USB 3.0 vs Thunderbolt?
