Hey guys, I'm currently building a PC (for gaming and photo/video editing) and don't know too much about all the intricate details on tech specifications. I just try to build the most modern PC, every couple of years, that'll last me quite a while. So far, I've decided to build on a mini ITX platform because I really like the Corsair 380T case. I've bought the ASUS Maximus VII Impact motherboard, and Intel i7 4790k CPU. I plan to run the newest edition windows which will probably 10 when it releases. So I've been looking at RAM and of course, there are tons of great RAM out there but I really like the way Corsair's Dominator Platinum series looks and was wondering if anyone can recommend which would be best for me to purchase that is compatible with my motherboard and wont give me any issues running it.

so the best that board can do is 16gb in 2 8gb sticks, for editing I would say find the fastest kit in that form that you can afford and buy that. Just make sure that you pick up a DDR3 kit, not the DDR4

Check here : https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/MAXIMUS_VII_IMPACT/specifications/ to ensure that the speed you want is supported.

you will be fine then, some of the larger air coolers overhand the memory slots, and limit what you can use
