Why is my Power Supply overloaded?

Hi, I recently bought a EVGA 750w Supernova B2. I had no trouble installing it but, when I tried to power on the system it came on for half a second and then died. I tried again, this time there was beeping and a red flashing light. The light flashed 4 times then stopped and then started again. Kept that same pattern. So I looked it up and someone had written down a list of the different types of flashing patterns and what they mean, and the 4 meant Power Supply Overload.
So if someone would help me I would really appreciate it, here are my system specs:

CPU: Core 2 Duo e8400
GPU: Radeon HD 7970 - I know I'm bottlenecking
HDD: 160 GB
Then I have a dvd drive and an exhaust fan along with the heatsink hooked up as well.

Solution
It sounds like a short somewhere, double check all your connections and make sure everything needed is connected. What motherboard is it? What was the beeping pattern?

Went back and checked everything, and everything is plugged in right. The beeping pattern it the same as the flashing pattern, and I don't really know what the board is. I know it's an lga 775 socket board though.

It should say somewhere on the mobo(printed on the board itself, usually fairly big writing), I ask because manufacturers can have different codes. My old MSI mobo had a different code than my ASUS.
