Computer restarts when entering some games

Hello all. For about a year, I have been able to play all my games fine, but within the past few weeks, my computer has began to restart when i play some games. But not right when I start them up. I can load the games up fine and sit in their main menus for as long as I want, but as soon as I enter a game session and load into the map, the computer restarts.
The games in particular that are causing the restarting are CS:GO, Rust, and 3v3's in LoL. I'm able to play other games just fine like Terraria, Minecraft, Payday 2, and 5v5's in LoL. I have verified the game cache for both Steam games, and the problem continued.

Computer Specs:
OS: Windows 8.1
MOBO: MSI 970 Gaming motherboard
CPU: AMD FX 6300
Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST
PSU: Coolmax 600W

I recently replaced my old motherboard and power supply (from a 430W) to the current ones i have listed, thinking that they were the issue, but they were not. I have also updated the drivers for my graphics card, and made sure windows was up to date.

I also monitored the temps when I start up these games, and when I am entering the game (right before the restart), The temps for my CPU and Graphics card are around 61C.

Also, whenever my computer does restart, my internet router seems to go out. The router is connected to the same power strip that my computer is connected to, and the strip said that it was surge protected. I have tried plugging the computer into a seperate circuit in the house, and the computer still restarted, and not turning off the internet. Just thought this might be useful in figuring out the root of the problem.

I am just asking if this could be a software or hardware issue, and what I could do to fix this. Thank you for taking the time to read this and help with my problem.

well if it was a thermal issue it would take a while to reset. so is likely a power delivery issue.
then i would suggest you test the psu and gpu in another build if you can. something is gone wonky and to me it sounds like the psu cant handle the different power states of the system.
its more than possible as the standard has changed 2-3 times since 2007 as cpus required much lower powerstates than they used to. if the psu cant deliver the power evenly as the system switches between high and low power requirements it will often cause the whole build to fall over.
so yeah if you can ask a mate to lend you his newer model psu to see if you can test it in your build.
the last time coolmax released a 600w unit was about 5 years ago judging by the reviews. http://www.techpowerup.com/reviewdb/PSUs/CoolMax/
so i could be your new psu is actually an old psu and if so likely unable to handle the low power states the cpu and gpu require when switching back and forth from the 2d and 3d driver components.

its a guess though.

check your event logs and see if its just a driver collapsing. if not then look at the hardware and if you can try your old psu.

I did just check on that site, and my psu is the v-600, so its even older than that. How would i go about checking the logs? Nothing pops up or notifies me of anything when this happens.

ouch . well that aint good. you have been sold an out of warranty product so i would suggest you send it back and get a refund.

control panel/ admin tools/events viewer.
under critical errors.
it takes a little will to populate the error logs so dont quit if you dont see anything for a short while.

Im guessing it would be under the Critical tab, and under that, it lists "Event ID 41", and the source is "Kernel-Power".
I will also look at getting another new power supply then.

There are no errors before the error 41 under that tab, and it is the only error in the critical tab. I've been checking the other tabs for the 3 things that you said to look for, and i have not found any of them. I did find NVNetworkService and NvStreamSvc under the information tab. I was just searching for things with nv in the front.

Just checked the event viewer and the only things that pop up for the last hour are the error 41, and under the Warning tab, there is something called Wininit.

The restart happened at 4:51, and i have no idea which of these could be a sign of the issue

The old PSU did the same thing. Just a question, could it possibly be a failing GPU? Because i recently tried within the past 2 days some other games, and my computer restarted in Evolve, and Borderlands 2. Games that i used to play for hours on end without problems on the highest graphics. I know it wasnt heating up, but im just wondering if this could be the issue, as i've had it for about 3 years now. Plus, i was able to run Rust with it on the lowest graphics, in a small window for about 30 minutes. Then, i tried to make the game fullscreen, and after about 5 seconds of play, the computer restarted.

could be pretty much anything in the case causing the off. but yeah its a bit of a coincidence as soon as you load up the gpu the pc shuts off.
when you restart. does it take a while before it allows you to power on or can you power on straight away?.

i would suggest if you can, to try as many parts as you can in another build.
start with the psu. then gpu, then ram then cpu if you can.

The computer restarts immediately after the crash, without me pressing anything. I also took the computer into a Fry's, and they tested the cpu and ram, and they were both good.

Thanks a bunch for all the help. I replaced the psu with a corsair cx 750, and now everything is running great again!
