Hello.

Im looking into upgrading my AMD 7800 graphics card as i think its on its last legs and want a new one for the newer games but have no idea where to start.

Im only looking to update the graphics card at the moment (dont mind upgrading power supply if needed) as its all i can afford. Im just wondering if i can get a quite considerably better graphics card without updating anything else ( will post pc specs below) and if someone can point me in the right direction or give me advice on which i should get. My price range is around £200 if that helps.

PC SPECS :Intel (R) Core (TM) i5-2500k CPU@ 3000ghz (4cpus) 3.6gz.

system manufacturer : gigbyte technology co ., Ltd
System model : Z68AP-D3
ZS - Series 650w Power supply
I also have 8 gig of ram ( not sure how relevant that is).

Ok thanks for reading and im sorry if its not the best wording or anything as iv been awake for over 24 hours !.

Solution
Your PSU has 552W on the +12V rail, which is where most of the components draw power from. Taking into account the CPU, motherboard, etc. and I'd say that a graphics card with a maximum TDP of 250W is a good bet.

Assuming that the resolution of your monitor/TV is 1920x1080, then I'll recommend an R9 380 4GB. A GTX 960 is a good alternative, but the 2GB of VRAM is a difficult pill to swallow.
