A co-worker asked me to upgrade his computer and he got a AMD FX 6300 and a GIGABYTE 970A-UD3P. After I installed both I turned it on and all the fans power up and it appears that everything is running but there is a blank display on the monitor. Tried swapping graphics card and reseating the RAM but nothing seems to work.

Solution
Check on another monitor, with both DVI/HDMI cables,if that doesn't work u might wanna remove the cpu cooler and check if the cpu is actually placed correctly(careful though when you are removing the cooler since the cpu might come out as well)

The 970 chipset doesn't have onboard graphics. What you're talking about, onboard graphics is something that only the 760 chipset has. OP remove the CMOS battery, keep it off for a while and then replace it and boot up. Now when you boot up, boot up with a single stick of ram.
