Hello guys. I have a problem with my desktop pc, I turn it on and it starts working all the fans work fine the motherboard led is on BUT I get no input on my monitor. I connect my gpu through a vga cable to my monitor.

I tried to connect the on board graphics card to the monitor but still nothing.... the monitor is fine i tried it on another pc... I really have no idea whats going on.

Solution
To be honest, time to get a new MB/CPU and see if the GPU is damaged as well or not. If all works with a new MB/CPU, then problem solved, if not...you may have done more damage than you thought and need to get a new MB/CPU/GPU/RAM...aka, whole new rig.

Yes I have a DVI port on my graphics card tried it still no input.
First I had a different case with a different motherboard working with an intel cpu... I installed my cpu fan poorly and the cpu got smoked from the temperature it wasn't even turning on. I changed my motherboard with my old one and the cpu with an old one I had, an amd cpu...

I kept the GPU I was using with the intel motherboard the one that got smoked and I placed it in the one that Im working with now the AMD one and thats where my problem started... I get no input on the monitor but everything else seems to work fine. I am sorry for any grammar mistake.

If this is a prebuilt Windows 8 system, many times you need to enable legacy mode to swap video cards(not all cards come with a uefi secureboot ready bios).

Please try the onboard with the dedicated card removed.

Also ensure all the cables are fully inserted(the 20/24 and 4/8 are required to even get the system to post).

Ok, so you smoked a new Intel MB and CPU then reverted back to a older AMD MB and CPU? Are you sure that MB and CPU are working correctly? If nothing is appearing on the screen and you changed the MB and CPU, I say the GPU is fine and the problem is with your MB/CPU. If the GPU was the problem, your on-board video should have given a signal. No signal at all refers to a BIOS problem which is between the MB/CPU most often.

Do you get any system beeps when it turns on?

Unless of course you damaged the GPU when you smoked the Intel MB/CPU, but that is less likely.

@nukemaster I tried the onboard gpu as I said and it didint work, I tried different vga cables even an hdmi cable but still nothing.

@Forgotten031511 Yes exactly what you said I did all that and I think you may be right, maybe the problem is not in the gpu. I get no beeps when i turn the pc on. What would you suggest to do?
