I just bought a new SSD and now I want to do a clean install of Windows 8 on it. I backed up everything I need from my HDD to a flash drive, so now I want to completely wipe out my HDD and start over. I know how to boot from a bootable USB and all, but I am just confused on how to install it to my SSD and how to wipe out my HDD in the process. Do I have to format my HDD before I install Win 8 on my SSD or what? I'm just a little confused. I do not want to keep ANYTHING on my HDD as it is all backed up. Thanks

Solution
Just boot up the window setup, choose to custom install. When you get to the screen where you choose to install windows, select the partitions that is the old HDD and choose to format it. Cancel the setup afterwards and shut down. Unplug the HDD and leave the SSD plugged in only. Continue your installation of windows.
