I have a Lenovo H50-50 computer and these are the current specs (according to speccy) :
CPU
Intel Core i5 4460 @ 3.20GHz
Haswell 22nm Technology
RAM
8.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-11-28)
Motherboard
LENOVO SHARKBAY (SOCKET 0)
Graphics
E2442 (1920x1080@60Hz)
2048MB ATI AMD Radeon R7 240 (Unknown)

The new gpu : MSI GF GTX970 4GB GDDR5 PCIE
new psu: COOLER MASTER ATX 2.3 THUNDER 700W

Are they compatible with the motherboard? I mean in speccy it says that the motherboard has a PCI-E x16 slot but the new graphics card is PCI Express 3.0 and I don't know if this motherboard is. I just want to know are these compatible and do I have to buy a new motherboard too because lenovo components are pretty bad and uncompatible with a lot of things.

Solution
"non-foreign" is quite relative. are you from the USA? UK? etc. it matters a lot for me to know where you can buy from and what currency your budget is

you look online for the cards measurements, length specifically, then you measure from the hard drive cage to the opposing side of the case where your gpu's display ports (hdmi/DP/vga/whatever) would stick out of. that should give you a good idea.

also keep in mind that where the gpu's power ports are located also come into play

I know they are but I read that a 2.0 gpu will work with a 3.0 motherboard but a 3.0 gpu will have much weaker performance with a 2.0 motherboard.

Just found out that the current GPU is 3.0 so the motherboard also should be 3.0. But still lenovo components might not be compatible with certain things. Also how do I know if the new components fit or don't fit? How do I measure it? For example I measured the PSU and it's actually bigger than the new one I want to buy.

the 970 will be fine in that mobo, youd never be able to tell a difference pcie 2.0 vs 3.0.

you should consider getting a different PSU though. you wont need more than 550w (400w tops, really) and coolermaster is generally a pretty poorly made brand.

check out xfx 550w. likely in the same price range, perhaps cheaper. there are many others in the same price range that are better quality than coolermaster as a whole

Is CORSAIR CX600 ATX2.3 80+ 600W good enough? Also how the hell do I know if the new GPU fits?

any standard ATX PSU should fit, although i advise adding an exhaust fan at the least. i cant tell what size from the pics i see, but chances are its either 80mm/92/mm or 120mm all of which are very common and should be easily found

where are you ordering the psu from and what is your budget for this unit? the CX series isnt particularly good either.

as far as knowing, for certain, if its fits...measure. im very willing to bet "the farm" that it should fit fine with minimal issue, if any issue at all.

The PSU isn't that important anyways right? Or is it?
My budget is definitely under 100 for the PSU. I'm ordering from a non-foreign store so the selection isn't that big. But is the VS series any good? CORSAIR ATX 2.31 VS SERIES 650W
Also the gpu might not actually fit due to the box being not that big. But maybe it does fit. I just don't know how to measure it. Edit : Didn't notice one of your comments, yes I do have a H50-50.

It's an Estonian store and as I said the selection isn't that big.
But is CORSAIR ATX 2.31 VS SERIES 650W good enough or not?
