i had certain specs i needed for my work computer i went and purchased a used one and was told they worked the same please help i am so confused

needed these specs: intel core 3 processor or better. 4GB of RAM or better. atleast 256GB of hard drive space.windows 8 if posible


computer i purchased: 250Ghz core2 quad Q8300 HD #1 500GB WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM 64-bit NIC Integrated: ATI Radeon HD4350 system memory is 8.0 GB

well, c2q is an older 4 core processor and intel i3 has 2 hyperthreaded cores.
the second gen i3 will be around the same as the c2q, in singlethread will be better, in multithread about the same or a tad worse.
the fourth gen is a different story - in singlethreaded the i3-4130 will be a vastly superior performer, in multithread the c2q may come close in some scenarios, but i3 will be usually a lot better..
