Hi all,

I have just upgraded my cpu cooler from a stock AMD cooler to a Xigmatek Gaia II CPU Cooler. However I am worried it is running too hot at 34c (whilst writing this).

My cpu is an AMD Phenon x6 1090t.

My case has three fans (two intake and one exhaust)

Could anyone suggest a reason for this?

22C would be an impressive feat. What is the ambient temperature?

I think you may be misreading that chart. Those aren't the resultant temperatures. They are the difference between the ambient temperature and the maximum measured value at a specified load. Assuming an ambient of 25C you should see 47C under load if it scored a 22, but the Gaia II should be a lot closer to the Evo 212 in performance 59.8C, max temp for your CPU is 62C if 125W, 71C if 95W (pretty sure they only made 125W of the hexacore chips)

That chart is also quite a few years out of date, not that that invalidates the numbers there, but it doesn't include comparisons to many of the heatsinks available today.

Thank you very much for clarifying that for me! Sheer naivety on my part.
