Can I put a Intel Core 2 CPU X6800 that's 2.93GHz in Asus A8N-Sli mobo?

I got the Motherboard from my brother a year ago I know it's an older unit but Is it an ok mobo? also Can I put a Gtx 970 Ti in the motherboard? I haven't used it yet I'll be using a Xion 630 Wat power supply. I'll also be installing Windows 7 (64bit) if I can.

The A8N-SLI only supports old AMD cpus. Unless you have a different model, the Core2 won't be compatible.
You can put a GTX 970 in it, but it won't be a good match with the CPU.
I'm not familiar with Xion, but I would expect it to be junk.

You can always g to the motherboard manufacturers webpage and check the CPU compatibility for that model of motherboard. It will prevent any component mistakes.

But for Intel CPUs just make sure that the LGA socket # matches up.
